An equity partner in Gidley Management Group, Inc. (GMG), Sheila Gidley considers herself very fortunate to have the opportunity to work with her family in a field she loves.
Throughout her career in association management, Sheila has worked with a number of non-profit boards across a wide variety of industries to develop and maintain a strategic approach to the success and growth of her client associations. She has managed hundreds of meetings from small board meetings to large conventions; designed a wide variety of custom databases, providing her clients with a flexible tool for storing and utilizing member data; served as author and editor for many association publications; and provided financial oversight, management and budget preparation. However, she considers her most important responsibility that of creating relationships and networks with the members of all her client associations.
Sheila is a Certified Association Executive (CAE) a designation awarded by the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE). The CAE program was designed to elevate professional standards, enhance individual performance, and designate those who demonstrate knowledge essential to the practice of association management. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. She is a member of the Association Forum of Chicagoland, where she has served as a CAE study group facilitator, the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) where she served on the Ethics Committee and the Association Management Company.
